SMS Txt

From category: Dialects

With the widespread use of mobile phones, a common "sub-language" of English is that used on phones' text messenging, or SMS services to give them their proper title.

However, one of the problems with SMS systems is that they only provide up to 160 characters (letters, numbers, punctuation) per 'txt' or text message, so commonly things are abbrieviated.

SMS Txt aims to convert normal English into txtspk, or however it might be written, so that you can quickly type in normal English (or copy/paste it from somewhere) and know exactly what to txt.

We might even look at writing a reverse translator before long... it is possible (apparently)

It is possible to translate a few words/phrases, and whole webpages, using this voice. Please see the main page to use these features.
