Buccaneer (pirate)From category: Dialects It seems from every old pirate movie that the swashbucklers of the 18th Century (1700s) spoke in a slightly... errm... unusual way, with their own lingo, includin' talkin' o' Davey Jones' locker! I couldn't help but write my own... As for where I've got this from, I've tried to make it feel right, by guesswork, by reading the documentation from Sid Meier's Pirates! (new version), and looking through other such oddities. I think this one feels right, but please let me know if you think I should add anything! I have also found some other people talking like pirates, especially on September 19th - Talk Like A Pirate Day! More information on TLAP Day can be found on the Talk Like A Pirate website. It is possible to translate a few words/phrases, and whole webpages, using this voice. Please see the main page to use these features. Related links
