Corporate Talk

From category: Dialects

Anyone who has spent any amount of time in an office environment will understand the executive or corporate jargon used.

The office I work at seems to be a home for people who speak English, actually, but I have been unfortunate enough to work in an office where English isn't the accepted language.

It's a language where words and phrases like "paradigm", "quality management" and "synergy" exist, even rule, and where acronym overload seems to be the most fun thing that's happened all year.

The trouble is, ordinary people can't actually speak this language - bending normal language around words which mean basically the same thing but with 53 extra letters is more difficult than saying it in words of no more than 4 letters.

This should help. If you're a Dilbert fan, you will appreciate it even more - I did consider calling it the Pointy-Haired Boss dialect, but I wouldn't want to go around treading on Scott Adams' toes - the guy is an unashamed genius of sorts. (Well, he's made more money than me doing any kind of comedy)

Unfortunately this voice is only 'coming soon', it is not available yet from The Voices of Many online. It should - hopefully - be available soon...
